Earn your Public Health Degree Online
A Public Health Program Designed for Busy Adults.
Make a Difference in the World with a Degree in Public Health
The Public Health program in the College for Adults at St. °µÍø½ûÇø can help you achieve your career goals. Our program is designed for busy adults who want to earn their bachelor's degree in public health without sacrificing their work or family commitments.
When you earn your online public health degree, you’ll gain the skills and experience to influence health and safety policies, improve the health of populations, and work for social justice. You'll learn about public health foundations, global health, epidemiology, healthcare teams, and biological impacts on human health, all focusing on ethics.
Choose a concentration that fits your unique interests, and prepare for a career or graduate study through internship and seminar experiences.
Our online degree prepares you for employment in public health, strengthens the background of health professionals who are interested in public health practice areas, and provides an excellent foundation for students who are interested in pursuing graduate study in public health, pre-professional degrees (e.g. pre-Med, pre-PA) or related areas.
When you graduate from our program, you will be prepared to take the PHEP exam and become a certified public health professional (CHP). Students can also move seamlessly into the Master of Public Health (MPH) in Global Health program.
A fast-track "3+2" dual degree option is available for students who want to combine a bachelor's in public health with a Master of Public Health degree.
Community Health Worker Certificate
If you are interested in community health work, you have an opportunity to earn a Community Health Worker Certificate (CHW). As a CHW, you'll help diverse populations navigate the system and community services.
In addition to learning about the role of the CHW and how they connect community members to resources, students in the program gain skills in health communication, cultural competency, health education and promotion, and emergency response and preparedness.
Classroom discussions address current legal and ethical issues and students get real-world experience working directly with community members through service learning and a practicum experience with a community partner.
CHW Scholarship Support
Students pursuing the Community Health Worker certificate or the CHW concentration within the Public Health major may apply for a federal grant-funded scholarship to cover expenses for up to 24 credits. To be considered for the scholarship, apply for University admission and ask your admission counselor for more information.
We also offer various student support services, including career counseling, internship opportunities, and financial aid.
