School Library Media Specialist

Lead the integration of information and technology literacy skills within the classroom.

Through personal attention and hands-on experiences, you’ll gain the skills to support equal access to technology and foster digital literacy.

Build beyond the basic skills to develop leadership skills for the increasing educational needs.

In the school library media specialist license program, you’ll learn the principles of librarianship in general, and service to children and young adults in particular. Developmental psychology of the child, pre-adolescent, and adolescent is woven into the literature courses. The philosophy of education for elementary, middle, and secondary school levels plays an integral role in our curriculum.

Students who do not hold a current MN State teaching license will complete additional course and student teaching requirements. Students of all genders are welcome in the program.

Start: Fall, Spring, or Summer

Tuition per credit (2024–2025): $995

Total tuition: $35,820
