Kayla Lantz PhD

Kayla Lantz received her Ph.D. in polymer and inorganic chemistry from the University of South Carolina. She started here at St. Kate’s in 2024 and primarily teaches general chemistry for health sciences, general chemistry labs, and organic chemistry. Professor Lantz’s research interests include sustainable polymers, material templating, and developing polymer curriculum for undergraduate labs with a focus on incorporating green chemistry methodology. Students that work in Professor Lantz’s research lab will develop skills in advanced organic/ polymer synthesis and characterization, as well as strengthen their ability to critically think and effectively communicate their findings.Â
