Choose Your Classes
Select the right courses for your first term with confidence. Academic Advisors take all the details into consideration to make the best course suggestions possible. And, our Degree Evaluation tool makes accessing these valuable insights easy.
How many courses or credits should I register for?
We suggest that you register for 6-12 credits based on your goals, the amount of time you are able to devote to study, and recommendations from your advisor.
- St. Kate's courses vary from 1-4 credits
- 6 credits is the minimum to be considered for half-time financial aid
- 12 credits is the minimum to be considered a full-time student
- Tuition is charged per credit hour
What courses should I take?
Review the course suggestions from your Academic Advisor. Advisors review your file to suggest courses that help you earn your degree on your timeline.
This is a huge help to students looking to avoid obstacles and stay on track with degree requirements. Advisors plan for courses that aren't offered every semesters as well as courses that have strict sequencing requirements.
Do I need to update my transcript?
Students who don't get their transcripts updated run the risk of getting inaccurate course suggestions. This could result in a student repeating courses or taking ones that aren't required.
If you have just completed or are currently enrolled in courses that are not listed on the most recent transcripts St. Kate's has received, let your advisor know and request a new updated transcript be sent as soon as possible so your Degree Evaluation is up-to-date.
Register Online
All students must attend a registration event first. Upon completion of the event, students will gain access to register for courses online. Remember to refer to the course recommendations found in your Degree Evaluation notes.

Important dates
- First and last day of classes
- Last day to add and drop classes
- Last day to withdraw from a class without a W on a transcript
- Last day to withdraw with a W or designate S/U grading
