As it approaches its 100th anniversary, we are preserving and updating our beautiful Chapel. Your generosity will help us restore pews and make repairs to the roof, ceiling, and lighting and electrical systems, ensuring it continues to be admired and used for years to come.
Mendel Renovation Updates
Opened in 1927, Mendel has housed our sciences for over 95 years.
More than 2,100 students take classes each year in Mendel.
Mendel space must reflect current teaching methods as well as support future needs.

Before the new walkways are poured, crews are setting a system in place to help melt snow when winter comes. The solution works like an in-floor heating system.

In Mendel, ductwork and piping are being installed throughout the building.
Floor grinding is taking place in Mendel as the large-scale renovation of our science facilities forges ahead.
Demolition takes place in a microbiology teaching lab, one of several that are being totally remodeled during Mendel's renovation.
New exhaust fans and ductwork are installed on the east roof, while structural steel is installed on the west roof.
Several third-floor rooms are receiving some finishing touches including terrazzo patching, ceiling and lights installation, and painting.

Chapel Renovation Updates
Dedicated in 1924, Our Lady of Victory Chapel has been an icon at the heart of campus.
Through years of use, the batchelder tiles are in need for some cleaning.
Through historical preservation methods, we have tested the cleaning.
And were elated by the early results. WOW what an impact!
Door frames are also in need of cleaning.
Can you see the color reveal itself? Imagine the entire interior!
With a skilled install team, they carefully placed the large windows in place.
We are thrilled by the results!
Part of our site work preparation begins with a safety wall so we can continue using the cloister walk during cold weather months.
New Chapel windows are being assembled! These frames are individually measured for each of the 27 window openings.
The pews are on the move as we prepare for the window installations.
Scaffolding begins to rise outside the chapel.
Detailed cleaning of the chapel doorways will remove a century's worth of exposure to the elements while highlighting the intricate detail of the tiles surrounding the blue doors.
