The St. °µÍø½ûÇø golf team is no stranger to breaking records and making history. Over the weekend, the Wildcats did just that at the Wartburg Invitational in Waverly, Iowa, as the team recorded the lowest-single round score in program history (303) in Saturday’s first round. St. Kate’s junior Sydney Busker (Detroit Lakes, Minn. / Detroit Lakes) was a key part of history as she too broke two school records over the weekend in Iowa. For her performance, Busker has been named Wildcat Athlete-of-the-Week for the second time this year.

Busker made history on the opening day of the tournament, as she became the first golfer in program history to shoot under par in a single round of a tournament. The junior shot 71 an opening round 71 on Saturday, finishing -1 and setting the record for lowest single-round score in school history. On Sunday, Busker was just as impressive, as she finished fourth in a field that featured over 100 golfers thanks to a two-day score of 148 (+4). According to available records, Busker's 148 is historic, as it is the lowest two-day score in program history.

After combining St. Kate's top-four scores, the team finished the tournament in a tie for third place thanks to a score of 629 (+53). Carleton College won the tournament as a team with a score of 616 (+40), while Wartburg's Brooke Klostermann won the tournament as an individual with a two-day score of 143 (-1). The Wildcats will compete at the DIII Classic in Lake City, Minnesota next Saturday and Sunday.
