Holy Thursday

Thursday, April 17th - 7 p.m.

Holy Thursday calls us in many ways to “do this in remembrance” of Jesus. On this evening, we read the account of the Passover feast and John’s version of the Last Supper, where Jesus insists upon washing the feet of his disciples. In this way, we are reminded that, despite all the differences and divisions which might exist between us, as Eucharistic people we are commanded to serve one another and to remember the unity that is ours as sisters and brothers in Christ.

Good Friday: Tenebrae

Friday, April 18th - 8 p.m.

This liturgy is not a Mass, but includes two central actions that help draw us into the mystery of Christ’s passion and death. The first focus is the Liturgy of the Word, which climaxes with the Proclamation of the Passion according to John. CSSJ is excited to offer this Good Friday's service as a Tenebrae which is a service that uses the gradual extinguishing of candles and scripture readings to reflect on Christ's passion and death, culminating in darkness and silence.

Easter Vigil

Saturday, April 19th - 8 p.m.

The Great Vigil marks the capstone of Lent and the Triduum–the end of the struggle between light and darkness. This is the most important liturgy of the whole year. No other event has more significance than this celebration, as it is much more than a remembrance of the Easter story. We welcome the peace that darkness brings while celebrating the light that shines through from our Paschal Candle. That light of Christ spread throughout the candles held by the assembly while the Exsultet is sung, an ancient, haunting, and beautiful prayer of thanksgiving for the newly welcomed light and the holiness of the night.

Easter Sunday

Sunday, April 20th - 10:30 a.m.

Easter Sunday marks the Resurrection of the Lord. Christ is risen, Alleluia! He is risen indeed, Alleluia!

Inspiring. Comforting.

Architecturally stunning and structurally imposing, Our Lady of Victory Chapel is an integral part of St. . Inspired by St. Trophime at Arles in Provence, France, the Chapel has a rich history and serves as cherished space for reflection and prayer.

"She opens her doors and invites St. Kate’s students, faculty, staff and neighbors to share in the liturgy every Sunday. She opens her arms to those who wish to celebrate in ways both secular and religious — as well as to those who need to grieve, to weep and to heal."

The Chapel was completed in 1924 under the direction of Sister Antonia McHugh, who helped found St. in 1905 and served as its leader for more than 30 years.
