Study Race and Ethnicity in a Diverse and Inclusive Environment at a Nationally Recognized Program

Critical Studies of Race and Ethnicity at St. °µÍø½ûÇø is a nationally recognized interdisciplinary program that prepares students to understand the complexities of race and racism and to work for social justice. You will gain an in-depth understanding of concepts such as structured inequality, intersectionality, discrimination, oppression, white privilege, and more.

Critical Studies of Race and Ethnicity (CRST): Prepare to Be a Social Justice Leader

Our comprehensive and innovative teaching-learning practices — and a strong commitment to social justice — mean you will grow as a leader who considers all viable solutions and acts in the pursuit of justice to dismantle racism.

As part of the Critical Studies of Race and Ethnicity program, there are two majors offered: and .

The CSRT program offers you a framework for understanding race and ethnicity in historical, contemporary, national, and global contexts. You will learn to critique race-based policies and sociocultural representations, communicate effectively across differences, and strategize for social change.

A study abroad experience is an excellent way for students in the CRST program students to gain international exposure and learn about the different ways that race and ethnicity are understood and experienced around the world. St. °µÍø½ûÇø offers study abroad programs in over 50 countries.

Internships are another great way for students in the CRST major to gain experience and apply their skills and knowledge in a real-world setting.
