International Business and Economics

Become a Leader in Global Trade and Finance

With the international business and economics major at St. , students acquire strong analytical skills to understand the financial, global, and management aspects of a successful business.

Understanding Business and Economics on a Global Scale Will Open Doors to Many Successful Career Paths

As the only international business and economics major in the area, our students gain a unique perspective on the global economy. We offer a strong core in economics, as well as a breadth of business. Courses such as “Women and Globalization” and “International Economics: Trade and Immigration” bring a unique perspective to the global economy.

You will gain a strong foundation in economics and business, be able to enter foreign markets, develop business strategies, and work for any major corporation with a global presence. Our students also have the opportunity to intern and study abroad, giving them valuable experience in the international marketplace.

Students often collaborate with faculty on research projects, such as studying workers and firms in the Middle East and North Africa. Global Studies will enhance your St. Kate’s experience and increase your hands-on learning and leadership opportunities. Internships will prepare you to communicate and demonstrate your unique skills to potential employers. Students can participate in programs like DataFest to acquire applied skills and work with a community partner to analyze and present the results of a data-based research project.

You’ll have access to events hosted by the Minnesota Center for Diversity in Economics, such as “Socialism vs. Capitalism” or “The Economics of Immigration.” Economics Club is also an outlet for students to engage with other passionate peers and local events.
